TOP SECRET SPECS

ATLAS 18
|
The state of the art rigid wing, already include in its structure what the others will have in a few years :tapered leading edge, evolutive airfoil, shock resistant leading edge, foldable ribs. The tapered leading edge saves weight at the tips, reducing roll and yaw inertia. It is aerodynamicaly more efficient.
The structure of the leading edge is slightly deforming under pressure, absorbing the shocks that might occur during transport, storage, or hitting trees, rocks… The evolutive cord and airfoil optimize the aero dynamical airflow for each section of the wing.
With a sink rate of 0.7 m/s for an 80 Kg pilot the TOP SECRET is unbeatable in thermal, weak conditions, light ridge soaring. The spoilers actioned by a hang glider like control bar are well positioned and dimensioned, thus giving the fastest roll rate of the market.
Flaps, acting as a trim on the weight shift pitch control, are also used to reduce speed at take off and landing and to reduce glide angle during the approach. The foldable ribs remain attached to the sail and do not need to be removed allowing a rigging time faster than a hang glider. It folds in 2 parts of 15 Kg and 20 Kg easily carriable by any body.

La Mouette
TOPLESS
World Champion Glider. After 2 years of extensive use by the world's top
competitors, the TOPLESS has upheld an awesome safety record while seizing
numerous high-profile titles worldwide.
The La Mouette TOPLESS is the longest produced, best selling kingpostless
glider, giving it's name (TOPLESS) to a whole new generation. There's reason
behind the TOPLESS' outstanding reputation.
An unbeatable glide angle. Standard- setting stability (no high siding). Vast
speed range. Easy landing. No yawing. Refined leading edge. And the list of
features goes on. The TOPLESS is a new step in hanggliding for safety and
performance. The kingpost and top rigging have been completely removed and
replaced by a strong, flexible cross-bar made out of extremely light carbon. The
lower rigging is the same as the standard hangglider with stainless steel cables
and no additional struts. Rigging and de-rigging remain easy, if not easier,
than a conventional hangglider. The weight and packed volume remain the same.
Pitch stability is taken care of by two carbon fiber floating tips integrated
into the sail.
The Topless is the best choice for competition pilots due to its extra
performance, general handling and coordination... also making it a suitable
choice for the intermediate pilot. Advanced Safety
To hold the negative loads without a kingpost, the center part of the cross bar
must be very strong, much too strong for what is needed in positive making the
TOPLESS practically unbreakable. The keel is also three times stronger than
usual so if the pilot falls into the sail, he won't break it. The carbon spars,
tapered to a very narrow section at their external tips are flexible. In case of
sudden negative load, the frame will bend acting as a shock absorber. Another
advantage of the frame is its flexibility... enough so, that it cannot reach
breaking load.
