NORTH WING APACHE
|
The Apache 2007 /TWO PLACE TRIKE
From this model you have a choice of 2 styles, Navajo (no fairing) and the
Apache Sport. You also have a choice of power plants, the Rotax
503 air cooled and the 582
water cooled. Two four-stroke engines are now available: The Rotax
912 and the HKS.
The Apache Sport Trike is a revolutionary design incorporating sport aircraft design suspension, welded 4130 aircraft steel main structure (Back Frame), 4130 dual mast and trailing link front steering. Unlike the tube and plate constructed trikes with their single mast, drag struts, side support cables and bungee cord suspension the Apache frame work will maintain it’s structural integrity for years to come. You can enjoy years of sturdy and confident flying knowing your trike won’t get loose and worn out.

The APACHE frame is rugged, strong and will not get all loose and sloppy over
time as do other trikes with plate and tube construction. The Apache will give
you years of confident flying. This trike will amaze you. It is loaded with lots
of awesome features. The Apache can also come as basic as you would like (see
Navajo).
The Apache provides a nice layout of gauges with room left over for your custom needs. Here you also see the rugged yet keen design of the Apache's front fork wheel system. You will appreciate the solid yet responsive feel of it's trailing link suspension. The front suspension works so well, it has survived a full front wheel landing at 60mph!!!
Dual Steering

This option is a must for the professional instructor. Not only does it have
dual steering, it also has a throttle linkage on the right front bar. Our
steering bar is made of 4130 steel and can be used as a step to get into the
back seat; some trike brands are too weak to do that.
Back Frame

The most unique quality in the Apache design is the strong and
durable welded chromemoly and steel spine (back frame). All other major trike
parts either bolts on or plugs into this fixture. This makes the Apache less
expensive to repair and easy to work on. If you happen to have an incident while
training where you might damage the trike, most likely you will be replacing the
lesser expensive parts and not the main supporting structure.
Dual Mast

The dual mast design of the Apache allows for unsurpassed headroom in the
rear seat. Most other trikes will force you to bend your neck forward so as not
to hit the center mast. The pivot point of the dual mast is mounted low, making
it super easy to mount the wing.
Rear Suspension

The Apache features dual pultuded fiber glass rod suspension. The unique
elliptical shape offers terrific flexing of the suspension upwards while
providing no flex to the rear. Single fiberglass axles flex rearwards and wear
the tires out. Fiberglass suspension provides soft and positive landings.
Front Disc Brake with Parking Brake is Standard

The new hyd.disc brake system for the Apache trike is..... awesome! Dual Rear
Brakes is also available. This brake system will provide smooth, positive
braking while applying just 1/2 of the pressure needed with the drum brake. If
you have a drum brake or small mechanical disc brake, you can upgrade your
existing Apache. Price is $300.00. If you have the early 6" rim front end,
you will also need a new 8" rim and tire.
Spring Assisted Mast

Sore back? Tried of lifting a 110 lb. wing into the air?
The Apache can now be equipped with gas-assist springs to aid you in lifting
your wing up!!! No longer do you need to lift 100+ lbs. into the air, with the
springs attached you will be lifting less than 20 lbs. While trying this out on
the Mustang 15, I used just my 2 fingers to lift it up! Amazing! If you own an
Apache this is something you can’t live without. If you are ordering an Apache
classic or sport, this option is included. We also have a retro fit kit for you
if you already have an Apache. Price for the spring assist kit is just
$225.00, thats just 5 visits to the chiropractor.
Dash/instrument panel.

The Apache dash area in either the Navajo, classic, or the sport fairing will provide a nice layout for gauges with room left over for your custom needs.
Front Steering

Here you see the rugged yet keen design of the Apache's front fork and
suspension system. Its suspension (shocks) is of our own design, made up of
elastomer spring material such as used on commercial aircraft and mountain
bikes. You will appreciate the solid yet responsive feel of our trailing link
system. Best of all the whole fork assembly is made of thick 6061 Alum. plates
that bolt together. So again if you may need parts you can replace only what you
need to rather then having to buy the whole front fork.
Pivot Block Wing Connection

The Apache pivot block assembly has been tested to 6500 lbs. without failure.
This connection makes mounting your wing to the trike a very easy task. Also our
mast to wing connection is a terrific universal pivot assembly and can be used
on many types of trikes.
Engine Mount

The New Apache Sport will allow you to adjust your engine angle to offset a turn
caused by “P” factor using the innovative tie rod style sway bar mount
system.
Seating Area

The new Apache Sport offers you a folding front seat back rest, allowing easy
access to the rear seat. Also notice the 3 point harness for the rear seat and 4
point harness for the front.
Fuel Filler

This is a nice feature. After seeing the difficulty of adding fuel to most
trikes, we had our own tank made. This allows us to put the fuel filler in a
most accessible place.
Electronic Fuse Box

Our trikes that have electric start will come equiped with an electrical fuse
box. This box makes it very easy to add options such as strobes and radios. We
also use only the highest quality “Keywest” regulator.
Radiator
We have tried many radiator systems (including Rotax radiators). We found most
radiators would not hold up to the vibration the engine delivered. We finally
had no choice but to design our own. This has eliminated the problem of
radiators forming leaks and cracking support mounts.
